Q: What is an "exclusive container"?
A: An exclusive container is a container that is mainly used for one customer. This ensures that your belongings and only your belongings are in the container. You also do have the option to place a combination lock onto the containers locking mechanism.
Q: How long will it take to get my stuff?
A: Shipping times are always estimations. Delays in shipments are caused by many different things, such as equipment shortage, weather, port congestion, ect. Below is a list of average shipping times for a variety of area.
- Europe - from port city:
- Exclusive containers: 18 -28 days.
- Less than container loads 4-8 weeks.
- Australia / New Zealand - from port city:
- Exclusive containers: 6-9 weeks.
- Less than container loads 5-12 weeks.
- Asia - from port city:
- Exclusive containers: 4-8 weeks.
- Less than container loads 10-18 weeks.
- South America - from port city:
- Exclusive containers: 14-28 days.
- Less than container loads 5-8 weeks.
Q: How can I transport my vehicle?
A: Vehicles can be shipped in two different ways:
- RO/RO (roll on/roll off):
- Your vehicle is driven on to the vessel, protected from the elements, secured for transport, and driven off at the port of destination.
- Your vehicle is loaded into the container, prepared, and secured for transport. The container is locked and delivered to the port of destination. You may also ship some household goods in the container with the vehicle.
Q: What additional charges could I have to pay?
A: Additional charges do vary based on your country of entry. Customs duties and taxes may also apply to your shipment. It is important for you to check your Customs Regulations
and your embassy for inclusions and exclusions.
Shipments do incur a destination port and terminal handling fee. This fee varies based on the port of entry and country, and there for is not included in your estimate. Please contact your representative for more details.
Other additional charges can still apply to your shipment (port congestion, storage, additional trucker time, shipment quarantine, ect.). Please contact your representative for more details.
Q: When should I schedule my move?
A: The summer months are the peak of the moving season. For a move planned from May to October, allow at least 4 weeks prior notice for all bookings. For a move planned from November to April, allow at least 2 weeks prior notice for all bookings. In case of an emergency, though, we will make every effort to arrange a move within 2 days.
Q: How do you charge for my move?
A: FCL (Full Container Load) Shipments:
- These shipments are for exclusive containers for a flat rate. The flat rate is based on the type of service requested for the container (Door to Door, Door to Port, Self Loading, Self Unloading, ect.).
- Additional options available to add to your container are available (Box Packing, Furniture Wrapping, ect.); please contact your representative for more details.
LCL (Less Than Container Load) Shipments:
- LCL shipments are based on your shipments total cubic footage. Your final price will be based off your final shipment palletized measurements.
- These shipments are for smaller shipments that do not require an exclusive container. These shipments must be palletized and are shipped on a shared container.
Q: How can I reduce the cost of shipping?
A: Reducing your shipping cost can be done a few different ways. Below is a list of the most common cost reduction services.
- FCL: Self Load your container at origin.
- FCL: Self Unload your container at destination.
- FCL: Unload your container at final destination (may not be available in all area).
- FCL / LCL: Take care of your own destination services at the port overseas (customs clearance, delivery beyond port, ect.)
- FCL / LCL: Pack your own boxes and wrap your own furniture.
- LCL: Palletize your own shipment.
- LCL: Drop your shipment off at the nearest shipping terminal.

Q: What type of boxes should I use for household goods?
A: Our suggestion is to use new packing materials. Even though the boxes you may get from your neighborhood supermarket may be free, they are not as sturdy or padded as new boxes. They are more susceptible to causing damage to your valuables in transit.
There are many packing material suppliers that will deliver within few days anything you may need. You can place your order online, or contact your local packing materials supplier.
You can also use plastic bins to pack as well, as long as there is a lid for the bin.
